Abia Born US Registered Nurse Honoured as ‘Champion of Democracy 2025’


Abiriba-Born Mrs Onyinyechi Glory Ibe, a registered Nurse in the United States of America and Community Health Advocate working in rural US communities on preventive healthcare has been conferred with the “Champion of Democracy 2025” award by Family Love FM Radio, Umuahia, Abia State.

The recognition, according to Head of News at Love FM, Mrs. Vivian Chima, is in recognition and appreciation of Mrs Ibe’s outstanding service and Sacrifice for Abiriba community, Abia State and Nigeria at large and the role she continues to play in serving as voice of hope for those around her which encapsulates what democracy should be.

The US Registered Nurse was applauded for her impactful efforts and consistent support to help the downtrodden get democracy dividends in a country where the leadership falls short.

In her acceptance speech, Mrs Ibe expressed gratitude to Family Love FM for the honour and pledged to continue in her drive to better the lives of those around her in anyway possible stressing that the recognition will encourage her to continue in service to the people.


She encouraged others to join in “building the Nigeria of our collective dreams”, adding that “The sacrifices we make help shape a better world and encourage others to join the ‘Sacrifice for a Better Nigeria.'”

Receiving the award in her behalf, the Do Good Project Coordinator, Mr Henry Ojiegbe lauded Mrs Ibe’s outstanding personality, stressing that the honour was well deserved.
