Ondo shoemaker stabs landlord’s son to death

Ondo police command has arrested a shoemaker, Sikiru Owolabi for allegedly killing a 48-year-old man, Bolanle Adilewa, in the Ijo Mimo area of Akure, the State capital.
Owolabi stabbed the victim to death after they got into an argument on Tuesday March 15, which degenerated into a fight. The suspect who claimed to have acted in self-defence rented a shop in the victim’s father’s house, where he plied his trade.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed the incident and further revealed that the murder suspect was already in police custody. Odunlami also said the matter had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
The police spokesperson said;
“The suspect is in our custody. He said he acted in self-defence when the deceased took an object to attack him while they were fighting. We have transferred the case to the SCID for further investigation.”
