Ivory Coast wins defending champions Senegal to reach the quarterfinals of the African Cup of Nations.

The round of 16 tie on Monday, January 30,  finished in a 1 – 1 draw but it was Ivory Coast who were victorious in the penalty shootout.

Ivory Coast made it to the round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).  They will face Cape Verde in the quarterfinals.
