” I’m happy to be associated with Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa on this award” – Onuigbo speaks on recognition by World Igbo Youth Assembly

The World Igbo Youths Assembly, WIYA, a youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has described Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa and Chief Sam Onuigbo as great assets of mentorship in the lives of youths and the younger generation.

The President-General of WIYA James Ajuzie who led other members of the group to the Umuahia residence of Chief Onuigbo to present an “Award of a True Patriot” to the South East Representative on the board of the North East Development Commission, described him as a square peg in a square hole in the area of community development and youth mentorship who over the years has shown great sense of humility in recording laudable achievements in human and community development .

The group which indicated that the same award would be presented to Mazi Ohuabunwa as they were headed for his place, noted that the likes of Onuigbo and Mazi Ohuabunwa were the only nominated duo from Abia state to merit the award because of their track record of service to humanity as well as love for the growth and development of Igboland.

Responding, Onuigbo, a two term Rep Member for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in the 9th Assembly expressed immense joy to be associated with Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa as recipients of the award, noting that it has demonstrated the mentorship he received from him over the years has yielded tremendous result as he promised to continue to impact positively in the lives of those around him.
