Aguocha empowers 317 students with Education Scholarship, promises to do 5,000 in eight years

It was all excitement and testimony time as hundreds of beneficiaries of the Educational Support Program sponsored by the Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha converged on Thursday 16th April 2025 at the Umuahia North Local Government Council Secretariat to get different categories scholarships for their education.

Speaking to newsmen, the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency Rep Member stated that the beneficiaries numbering 317 of Tertiary, Secondary and Primary students will greatly benefit as the initiative is aimed at easing the burden of school-related expenses for indigent students adding that the greatest legacy he could bequeath to his constituents is the legacy of education.

Also speaking, the Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly Rt Hon. Austin Mereghini (Ugolee) noted that the Labour Party and its Leadership in Abia State has shown quality leadership style from top to bottom as he appreciated Aguocha for not only representing his constituents in Abuja, but bringing home the dividends of quality representation for constituents to benefit from.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Asiagbu Joy and Onyinyechi Emmanuel wholeheartedly appreciated Rep Aguocha as they promised to utilize the scholarship support for the purpose it was meant.

Chinasa Abiola, the LGA Chairman Hon. Smart Ihioma, former Finance Commissioner Aham Uko, amongst others who all called on the beneficiaries to judiciously utilize the support funds to further their education and not for frivolities.
